Even as a local, who has lived here for 22 years of my life, the country never fails to surprise me with its beauty and the experiences it has to offer. The country is a marvel to behold. With a kaleidoscopic history that will leave you amazed and mesmerizing beauty that will leave you awestruck. India truly is incredible!

It is fast becoming a haven for solo travelers who are looking for unforgettable experiences to enrich their souls and bodies. India offers exhilarating adventures to people who want to travel alone and rediscover themselves.

But traveling alone can be a scary prospect. Countless questions invade your mind when you’re deciding to take on a solo trip. Is solo travel safe? Is traveling alone boring? What are some budget destinations for traveling solo? All these doubts grip your mind and prevent you from experiencing the joys of traveling solo. Traveling alone helps you peel your layers and forces you to sit with nothing but your thoughts. A dangerous prospect for some, yet invigorating to others.

Here are a few tricks that solo travelers should remember to ward off travel boredom or loneliness:

  • Turn strangers into friends. Make sure to interact with other travelers that you encounter and the local people of your destination. A solo traveling experience is all about memories that you create not just with yourself but also with strangers.
  • Plan your itinerary. Another important thing to keep in mind while traveling alone is to plan your days so that you can use each day effectively and have a fully immersive travel experience.
  • Vlog your adventures. An interesting way of combating solo travel boredom is to vlog or record your adventures every day. It helps you feel less alone and keeps you entertained.

If you’re still making up your mind about traveling alone to India, let me help sway you in the right direction. Here is a list of 5 destinations in India that you will love if you’re traveling alone.

Lake Pangong, Ladakh

Leh Ladakh

Rugged mountains, peaceful Gompas, arid rivers, and picturesque scenic beauty adorns our first destination, Ladakh. Still unadulterated by modernity, this city is breathtaking, quite literally. Situated at a high altitude of 25,400 ft. The city is an example of diverse landscapes existing in one place. From cold deserts to blue-green-hued lakes and snow-clad mountains, this Buddhist kingdom is the crown jewel of The Himalayas. When it comes to offering a variety of experiences to solo travelers, the city hits the ball out of the park. Whether it is the spiritual Shanti Stupa, the many peaceful monasteries, the pristine Pangong Lake, or The beautiful Nubra valley, Leh Ladakh will not disappoint you. If you’re someone who loves the journey more than the destination, Leh Ladakh is the place for you.
