An island nation, Cyprus, is the third-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is divided into two parts since 1974 and the northern part is only recognized by Turkey as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Despite being laid-back, the island gets very touristy throughout the summer. Traveling in Cyprus is not only great for a beach holiday but it also makes an excellent cultural and adventure destination.

Cyprus has many luxurious hotels and all-inclusive resorts on its stunning coastline. Ayia Napa is highly popular among tourists and no doubt, Nissi Beach is the best beach on the island. It is also the best place for summer parties.

Nearby resort town Protaras is also filled with gorgeous white-sand beaches. You can relax at the gorgeous Fig Tree Bay and do many water sports such as parasailing. Other amazing beaches in Cyprus include Konnos Bay, Makronissos Beach, Blue Lagoon Beach, and Aphrodite’s Rock.

Paphos is a popular tourist destination in Cyprus. Kato Paphos Archaeological Park and Tombs of the Kings are two important historic sites that should be explored. You can walk the Avakas Gorge, go wine tasting in Lemona and Kathikas, or discover the village of Evretou as a day trip from Paphos.

Head to Troodos Mountains for some adventure. The views from Mount Olympos will be rewarding and once you get down, you can cool off in the refreshing waters of a waterfall. Stop by the Kykkos monastery and explore the wineries of Omodhos.

Check out Limassol and its old city center. Try the amazing local wine and enjoy the vibrant nightlife. Go to the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia. It is split into two parts which makes it interesting to visit. if your passport allows, you can cross the Green Line border and see the northern part during the day.
