With historic castles, friendly people, green hills, and rugged landscapes, traveling to Ireland is quite fulfilling and makes it a happy journey. While many people come here just to visit Dublin and see the main sights, there are a lot of things to do around the country.

Dublin is a popular destination for a good reason. Ireland’s capital is the place to kick off your Irish adventure and have a real good time.

Dublin’s main attractions are visiting the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin Castle, and hanging out at Temple Bar and St Stephen’s Green Park. You can easily have day trips from Dublin and visit Glendalough, Kilkenny, and Malahide.

After finishing the Dublin area, head down to Cork in the south. It’s a fun, relaxed city where the food here is cheap and the nightlife is lively. Make sure to explore the English Market, kiss the Blarney Stone for good luck, visit the Bantry House, hike the Gougane Barra, and see the landscape around Mizen Head.

Take the scenic route called the Ring of Kerry. The drive here is amazing as you get to see breathtaking Atlantic views, picturesque villages, lakes, and mountains. The area is great for many activities such as cycling, surfing, golfing, and horse riding. Killarney, the starting point of the road trip, is worth exploring too for its medieval atmosphere.

On the west coast, make Galway your base. While there are many things to do in Galway such as walking the Salthill Promenade, visiting the Galway Cathedral, and touring the Kilmacduagh Monastery, you can explore the Aran Islands and the stunning Cliffs of Moher as a day trip.

If you have more time, you can cross the border and see Northern Ireland. Belfast and the famous Giant’s Causeway deserve a trip from Ireland since you are on the same island.
