Tongatapu, the largest island of Tonga, is the main hub to get to other islands. You can explore the capital Nuku’alofa as it offers a relaxing visit. It is also a good opportunity to see the culture of Tonga.

Make sure to check out the Ha’atafu Beach, the pigeon’s doorway, Free Church of Tonga, royal tombs, Talamahu Market, Ha’amonga Trilithon, and Mapu’a ‘a Vaea Blowholes when you are visiting Tongatapu.

Explore the island of ‘Eua. You can easily reach this island by ferry from Tongatapu. It has a large rain forest and it is perfect for hiking. There are no restaurants on this island so be prepared. For swimming and diving make your way to other islands in the Kingdom of Tonga.

Tonga may be located off the radar and not easy to get to, but it offers some of the best humpback whale watching opportunities in the world.
