The capital city Taipei is usually the starting point for most visitors. There are so many things to do in Taipei from urban hiking to visiting temples. It’s also a great base to make day trips to Beitou hot springs, Shifen, the very famous Jiufen Old Street, and Yangmingshan National Park.

Taiwan has many national parks all around the country waiting to be discovered. Hiking Taroko National Park is a very popular attraction in Taiwan and it offers the most beautiful part of the country’s nature.

You can also explore the beautiful surroundings of Sun Moon Lake, climb up to the highest mountain in Taiwan in Yushan National Park, or enjoy the best beaches and surf spots at Kenting National Park.

Steep green mountains meeting blue shades of the Pacific Ocean makes the entire coastline pretty scenic and the area is definitely worth a visit. Apart from places to go, the perfect Taiwan itinerary isn’t complete without the famous night markets and Taiwanese cuisine. Night markets are a big part of the Taiwanese culture and they always have a great number of different and delicious foods to try. Luckily you can find night markets everywhere you go.
