Malaysia

A nation with a mix of Malay, Indian, and Chinese cultures, incredible cuisine, and pure nature, Malaysia is often seen as an underrated destination. And yet, it offers exciting things to do, as many as the other countries in Southeast Asia.

From city-hopping to world-class diving to jungles and wildlife, traveling in Malaysia is full of adventures. The capital Kuala Lumpur is just like any other big city, although the iconic Petronas Towers and Batu Caves are worth a quick visit.

Other popular cities Georgetown in Penang and Malacca are the best places in Malaysia to see the cultural diversity, vibrant traditions, colonial architecture, and eat delicious food.

Malaysia is home to many incredible national parks and they are perfectly accessible. You can climb the country’s highest peak Mount Kinabalu in Borneo and explore the Taman Negara National Park, which is one of the oldest rainforests in the world. The wildlife scene will be rewarding and you’ll get to see orangutans, lizards, elephants, rhinos, and tigers.

This country is also a tropical island paradise. With crystal clear waters and white sand beaches, Langkawi is everyone’s favorite island in Malaysia.

For the diving experience, Sipadan Island is known as one of the best diving sites in the world. It’s important to book this trip in advance because there is a limit for daily divers and it requires a permit.

While Perhentian Island, Tioman Island, and Redang Island offer more diving sites, you can also enjoy the sandy beaches, go snorkeling and just relax on these islands.

To have a little escape from the hot and humid weather, you can visit the popular tourist spot Cameron Highlands in Malaysia and explore the picturesque tea plantations. Or, you can cool off by going whitewater rafting in Kuala Kubu Bharu River and vUlu Slim River.
