The capital Phnom Penh has developed a lot and become an international city in recent years. There is no surprise it is popular among backpackers and digital nomads since the nightlife and food scene is amazing. Many people visit Cambodia to see the incredible ruins of Angkor. Make your way to Siem Reap, as it is the base for exploring the Buddhist temple complex. The area is very big and there are so many temples waiting to be discovered.
While visiting the famous Angkor Wat takes almost a day, you should see other temples if you got more time. Some of the best temples in Cambodia include Angkor Thom, Ta Phrom, Ta Som, Bayon, and Banteay Srei.
Outside of the cities, you will find many great places to go in Cambodia. Enjoy the river views of Kampot, explore the area with a bicycle, and visit Kampot pepper farms. Kep is another laid-back town nearby. You can go trekking at Kep National Park or just relax here.
Cambodia may not be as famous as Thailand or the Philippines when it comes to beach holidays but it has some of the most beautiful beaches and islands in Southeast Asia.
Head to Sihanoukville and discover the exotic islands of Cambodia. You can party hard in the coastal city and relax at Otres Beach. Continue to Koh Rong to enjoy white powdery beaches and calm turquoise waters. The island is very touristic but you can easily find quiet spots around.
